Annual Meeting
Our first annual meeting was a great success. We had 67 member-owners in attendance and gained two new members during the event.
We had a great spread of food. Honey-cured ham from Audubon County Family Farms, paid for by Iowa Farmers Union, great hot and cold salads and desserts made by our members and refreshing drinks.
Your 2008-2009 Board of Directors were introduced:
- Denise Webber, President
- Joe Schultes, Vice-President
- Martha Sibbel, Jr Vice-President
- Lue Baker, Treasurer
- Wanda McInerney, Secretary
- Phil Squibb, Member-at-Large
The Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation were officially adopted.
The board presented an overview of the sources and uses budget and discussed the process and timeline to get this store up and running. Linda Johnson, GM of Wheatsfield Cooperative in Ames, gave a brief presentation of their efforts and help answer questions about the owner loan program, what a coop store is and other inquiries.

Local Harvest Banquet
Our first annual Local Harvest Banquet was a huge success! We served 123 people with almost 90% in attendance CMC members. It was great to meet so many members and to welcome new members as well.

Many people requested the recipe for the butternut squash soup. Please refer to the November newsletter that was sent out earlier this month as a similar recipe is printed there.
